Ingredients

25 minutes for prep and cooking
4-6 servings
  1. 2 tablespoonsolive oil
  2. 3 clovesminced garlic
  3. 1large onion thinly sliced
  4. 2peppers sliced (use green or what you have on hand)
  5. 2-3shakes of crushed red pepper
  6. 1 lb.shaved steak
  7. 4-5shakes dried parsley
  8. 1/2 tablespoondried oregano
  9. 1/2 teaspoonpepper
  10. 3 tablespoonsliquid (I used juice from hot banana peppers) you might use wine or beef broth
  11. 12 slicesprovolone cheese
  12. 4sandwich rolls split

Cooking Instructions

25 minutes for prep and cooking

    In a large skillet heat olive oil,add pepper flakes and garlic stir and cook for a minute.

    Add meat and all remaining spices and vegetables. Heat until meat is cooked and vegetables are tender.

    Assemble sandwich, spread the condiments you like on bun. Today I used mayo and creamy horseradish sauce. You might like pizza sauce, or maybe wait until it is assembled and douse with oil and vinegar.

    Add cheese slices, cover with meat mixture. I add more cheese on top. Broil 2-3 minutes to melt cheese. This made 6 8”subs. Wrap extras in foil and freeze to use later.
