My grandmother’s recipe of rice

Soak the rice for 20 mins until it is ready to cook

Fry the onions, garlic clove and cumin seeds in the oil on medium heat and sauté until the onions turn golden. Add water if necessary.

Add the soaked rice in the oil and let the whole mixture boil on heat until the water is evaporated to the level of the rice in the pot and the rice can be seen on the surface then add salt.

Add 1-2 cups of water in the pot and let it simmer on the stove with low heat for about 20- 30 mins.

If you want the texture mushy add 3 cups of water and if you want it ricey, add 1 cup. I wanted to make mine mushy so I added more water and let it boil longer.
