Soak the dried figs in ½ cup of warm water for 2 to 3 hours.

Wash the rice and soak it for an hour.

Use a chutney maker or mini processor to make a coarse paste of the soaked fig..

Heat the milk in a heavy-bottomed pan and bring it to a full to boil. Reduce the heat to low.
Add the soaked rice and cook until the milk is reduced to half. - 5
Add the fig paste, saffron, and cook for 6 to 8 mins stirring constantly until the mixed well and starts to thicken.

Stir in the brown sugar until dissolved and switch off... Finally add cardamom powder mix well...

Roast cashews, almonds, raisins in a tablespoon of ghee and add it to the kheer...

Serve warm or chilled garnished with crushed almonds, cashews and chopped fig...
