Repeat after me! Macarons are not Macaroons! Its actually a common mistake, if you know the difference, give yourself a pat on the back! Macarons are colourful are bright, very hard to make I may add, Macaroons are easy, coconut biscuits that are delicious equally to Macarons! I have an easy recipe that is gluten free! Only 6 ingredients, so pull out those trusty baking supplies and let's get started! You won't regret it! Dont forget to share your cooksnaps xx

Coconut Macaroons!

Ingredients

About 45 minutes
2 or 3 dozens of Macaroons
  1. 4egg whites
  2. 1/2 cupgranulated sugar
  3. Pinchsalt
  4. 3 dropsAlmond Extract (welcome to do without)
  5. 1 tspvanilla extract/essence
  6. 4 cupsdessicated Coconut, shredded

Cooking Instructions

About 45 minutes
  1. 1

    Line a tray with baking paper, preheat the oven on 150°

  2. 2

    In a bowl, add egg whites, sugar, salt, vanilla and almond if using.

  3. 3

    Beat the ingredients together until you get a frothy mixture. Should be about 2-3 minutes! Don't over mix.

  4. 4

    Add the Coconut to the egg white mix. Stir until combined!

  5. 5

    With a small ice cream Scoop or two tablespoons, Scoop the mixture into small balls. Place them on the tray a few cm apart

  6. 6

    Bake for 20-25 minutes, they should be golden brown.

  7. 7

    You may leave them plain or dip the bottom in chocolate. Both are delicious 😋
