Steps
- 1
Preheat 475° then Grate the 1/2 cup of frozen butter. Works better if you roll it in flour first
- 2
Put that butter in a bowl with 2 1/2 cups of SR flour. Toss together and put in freezer for 10 minutes
- 3
Add 1 cup of buttermilk in a well in the flour mixture. Mix together about 15 times to just wet everything
- 4
Turn into floured surface and fold over on top of each other turning as you go. Do this 4 times
- 5
Cut with your size biscuit cutter you prefer (do not twist cutter. You want to go straight down and straight up.) if you twist you won’t get the layers
- 6
Bake at 475° for 15 minutes. Brush with melted butter
