Long time Christmas dinner staple. Not sure why it started, but people love it every year.

Ingredients

  1. 2 bagsegg noodles
  2. 3 poundsthick-cut bacon, chopped
  3. 1large head of cabbage

Cooking Instructions

    Cook egg noodles according to instructions on package and set aside

    While noodles are cooking, you can chop the bacon into thin slices

  3. 3

    Cook the bacon in a large pot, over a medium-high flame. Cook bacon down to desired level of doneness.

    While bacon is cooking, cut cabbage into thinly sliced strips. (I like to do all of my chopping the night before, so I can enjoy more time socializing on Christmas Day while the food cooks)

    Once the bacon has cooked down, add the cabbage. Do not drain any of the bacon fat. This grease is perfect for frying up the cabbage. Continue cooking until the cabbage has become flimsy and near-translucent.

    Add the cooked egg noodles and mix well. Continue cooking until everything is nice and hot.
