Ingredients

  1. 2 cupsoat flour (about 200 grams)
  2. 1/2 cupcornstarch (about 60 grams)
  3. 1 teaspoonyeast
  4. 1 teaspoonsugar
  5. 1 tablespoonsesame seeds
  6. 1 teaspoonground mahlab
  7. Pinchsalt
  8. 1/2 cupmelted butter (about 115 grams)
  9. 1/4 cupcold milk (about 60 ml)
  10. For serving:
  11. Powdered sugar

Steps

  1. 1

    Mix all the dry ingredients together.

    Add the melted butter and rub it in until combined.

    Knead with the cold milk, then shape into balls. Press each ball into a mold or flatten slightly and place on a plain baking sheet. Do not fill to keep the calories lower.

    Bake in a preheated 400°F (200°C) oven until lightly golden.

    Let cool, dust with powdered sugar, and serve.
