A cookies like no other - warm, golden and irresistibly crunchy! Infused with citrus lemon zest, aromatic cardamom and glow of Turmeric ( or saffron), these cookies are crisp on the outside, soft inside and bursting with flavor.

Golden citrus crunch cookies

Step 1: (prepare the dough) in a bowl, mix together flour, baking powder, salt, cardamom powder and turmeric powder. In another bowl cream together butter and sugar until light and fluffy, add egg, lemon zest and lemon juice then mix again until well combined (if using saffron milk, add it at this stage and mix well) then mix in vanilla extract. Slow add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, stirring until a dough form, fold in chai seeds and toasted sesame seeds.

Step 2 : (shape & Bake the cookies) preheat the oven to 180°c and baking tray with parchment paper. Scoop 1 tbsp of dough per cookie, roll into balls and place them on the tray, flatten slightly and sprinkle extra Toasted sesame seeds & chai seeds on top. Bake for 12-15 mins or until the edges turn golden brown.

Step 3: (cool & enjoy) let cookies cool on the tray for 5 mins, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely. Enjoy the golden, crunchy delight with Tea, coffee or warm milk.
