We’re in Miami spending a few days at some friends’ place, and the weather here is totally summer-like! We went from wearing coats in Connecticut to tank tops and flip-flops here in Florida!!

So with this warm weather, I’m already craving some ice cream… I’m going to share this coffee ice cream recipe with you, and I’ll be adding some dark chocolate chips. It’s super easy to make and absolutely delicious!!!

Ingredients

45 minutes
4 people
  1. 1 2/3 cupsheavy cream (400gr)
  2. 1 1/4 cupssweetened condensed milk (300gr)
  3. 3 teaspoonsinstant coffee
  4. 3 tablespoonswater (50ml)
  5. 4small squares of dark chocolate (about 1.5oz or 40-45gr total)

Cooking Instructions

45 minutes
  1. 1

    Dissolve the coffee:
Heat the water (3 tbsp) slightly to dissolve the 3 teaspoons of instant coffee. You can use any brand you like.

  2. 2

    Mix with condensed milk:
Weigh the sweetened condensed milk and pour it into a mixing bowl. Add the dissolved coffee and beat the mixture until it turns into a smooth, creamy texture.

  3. 3

    Whip the cream:
While the coffee mix cools, whip the heavy cream. A great tip is to chill the bowl, beaters, and cream beforehand—especially if they’re metal, as they hold the cold better.

  4. 4

    Combine:
Fold the coffee-condensed milk mixture gently into the whipped cream using a spatula. Use slow, folding motions to keep it fluffy. You’ll get a smooth coffee-scented cream.

  5. 5

    Chop the chocolate:
Finely chop the dark chocolate using a sharp knife and a wooden cutting board.

  6. 6

    Mix and freeze:
Stir the chocolate pieces into the ice cream base. Add a few more on top if you like. Pour into a lidded container and freeze for at least 6 hours.

  7. 7

    Enjoy!
Serve in a bowl, a cone, or however you like best!

Hi everyone!!My name is Chus, and I’m a girl from Spain!I’ve been living in the U.S. since 2014, and we just moved to Toronto, Canada! (May 15th 2025).Even though I’ve been away from my country for years, I still cook every day just like I would back home.I love preparing both sweet and savory dishes, always with good music in the background. I like to get creative from time to time and try new things. I also enjoy putting together photo compositions of what I make—though sometimes, a simple photo says it all!I’ll be sharing some of my favorite recipes with you, just as you all inspire me every day!Shall we get started?📸 Instagram:@sweetchusy (English)@sweetchusy.es (Spanish)
