Nom nom nom nom.. I mean, if you've ever had a Bifana, you know!! Delicious and easy sandwiches. (I love bringing them to the beach with us... they're delicious even a little cool) - this is how my fam makes it.
Steps
- 1
Season your meat at least 1 hr
- 2
In a large pot, heat oil and brown each side of your meat in batches. They don't need to be fully cooked, set aside after browning.
- 3
In the same pot, add a little more oil if needed, add your onions and garlic. Sautee 2 min or until translucent.
- 4
Add the rest of your pot ingredients, except the water. Mix everything together. Return your meat to the pot (including any juices from the plate) and mix into the sauce.
- 5
Add enough water until it JUST covers the meat. Bring everything to a boil/ bubble then reduce to medium-low. Cover with lid, leaving a slight vent. Cook for 45min-1hr or until meat is tender.
- 6
Serve on your fave bread/bun. Lay some of that sauce on your Sammy. Delish. You can also have it with white rice, the sauce on the rice. Enjoy!
