Steps
- 1
Start by making your rice. Cut spam into 8 pieces and set aside. Make your sauce by combining all the ingredients.
- 2
Take your pan and spray some cooking spray on it and put it on medium heat. Fry the spam until one side turns golden brown and turn it over. Put some of your sauce on that side then turn it over and do the same to the other side. At this time change the temp to medium low to prevent your sauce from burning. Place the spam into a plate to prepare it for assemby.
- 3
Begin your assembly by using a Masubi mold. Take your rice and place about 2/3 in it. Press rice gently then add the spam on top of it then sprinkle with furikake seasoning (optional). Take your seaweed wrap and cut it into thirds. Lay it flat on surface and take your masubi mold and lay it to the center, remove the mold and wrap the seaweed around it. You can wet the sides with water for sealing if desired. Share and enjoy.
- 4
Note, if you don't have a mold handy, take your empty spam can, place a piece of plastic wrap in it, then and add rice to the bottom about a third and press firmly down. Then add the spam and firmly push it down. The the plastic out of the can and place it in serving plate and remove the plastic.
