Steps
- 1
Prepare the Custard Mixture:
In a small bowl, add custard powder.
Boil the milk in a saucepan.
Once the milk starts boiling, pour a few tablespoons of hot milk into the custard powder. Mix well until smooth and lump-free. Toast the Bread:
Cut the bread slices in half.
- 2
Heat a tawa or non-stick pan. Add butter.
Once the butter melts, place the bread slices and toast them until light golden brown on both sides.
Remove the toasted bread and place them in a shallow serving dish.
- 3
To the remaining milk in the pan, add the custard mixture and stir continuously.
Simmer for a few minutes until it thickens slightly.
Grind the almonds coarsely—not into a fine powder.
- 4
Add the almond powder, caramel syrup, and hazelnut syrup to the custard. Mix well.
- 5
Assemble the Dessert:
Pour the warm flavored custard over the toasted bread in the serving dish.
Let it cool to room temperature, then refrigerate until chilled.
- 6
Serve:
Before serving, top each piece with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.
Optionally, drizzle extra caramel or sprinkle more crushed almonds on top.
