Stuffed Lychee Sandesh

Lychee is a tropical fruit originally from China. It has a single seed and its flesh is soft, jelly-like, sweet, and juicy, while the outer skin is rough and leathery. Lychees usually grow in clusters on trees and are widely cultivated in tropical and subtropical regions. This fruit is especially popular in many Asian countries.

Lychee is rich in vitamin C and B-complex vitamins. It is also a good source of potassium, fiber, and antioxidants. Because of its unique taste and nutritional benefits, this fruit is enjoyed around the world. Lychee is commonly eaten fresh or used in juice, smoothies, desserts, salads, and more.

In this recipe, I have filled lychees with a popular Bengali sweet called 'Sandesh', flavored with gulkand (rose petal preserve).

  • 6lychees
  • For the Sandesh filling:
  • 1/4 cupfresh paneer (grated or mashed) (about 55 grams)
  • 2 tablespoonsgulkand (rose petal preserve)
  • 1 teaspoonrose syrup (optional)
  • For garnish:
  • 1 teaspoonsliced pistachios

Steps

15 minutes
  1. 1

    Gently peel the lychees and remove the seeds without breaking the flesh.

    In a bowl, mix the paneer, gulkand, and rose syrup to make the Sandesh filling.

    Carefully stuff each lychee with this mixture.
