Finally, the good weather is arriving: warm and sunny! So it’s the perfect time to enjoy fresh, cool dishes to beat the heat.

Today I’m bringing you this fruit salad, or as we would call it in Spain, “Macedonia” (yes, just like the country! You read that right! 😜).

It’s all about chopping up whatever fruits you like best or have at home, putting them in a bowl, and adding some freshly squeezed orange juice. You can sweeten it a bit more if it doesn’t seem sweet enough, or even add a splash of liqueur if no kids will be eating it.
Personally, I prefer it natural, just the fruit’s own sugar and no liqueur!

Are you up for making it??

Ingredients

30 min
4 people
  1. 1banana
  2. 1Gala Apple
  3. 6strawberries
  4. 2 slicesPineapple
  5. 3oranges (juice)

Cooking Instructions

30 min
  1. 1

The first thing we’ll do is wash the strawberries 🍓. Then we’ll hull them and cut them into small pieces.

  2. 2

We’re going to have a large bowl ready where we’ll put all the fruit—so we’ll start with the strawberries!

  3. 3

Now we’ll cut up a bit of pineapple 🍍. I used about two slices, chopped into pieces.

  4. 4

We’ll peel and cut the apple 🍎.

  5. 5

    Same with the banana! 🍌

  6. 6

We’ll add all the fruit to the bowl along with the strawberries.

  7. 7

Next up, we’ll make juice from the three oranges 🍊!

  8. 8

Then we’ll pour it into the bowl.

  9. 9

Now it’s time to taste it and if you’d like it sweeter, feel free to add a bit of sugar, stevia, or any sweetener you prefer! And if you want to give it a little kick with some liqueur, go for it.

  10. 10

We’ll let it sit in the fridge for a couple of hours so that it’s nice and cold when you eat it, and all the fruit flavors have blended together. Enjoy!!

Hi everyone!!My name is Chus, and I’m a girl from Spain!I’ve been living in the U.S. since 2014, and we just moved to Toronto, Canada! (May 15th 2025).Even though I’ve been away from my country for years, I still cook every day just like I would back home.I love preparing both sweet and savory dishes, always with good music in the background. I like to get creative from time to time and try new things. I also enjoy putting together photo compositions of what I make—though sometimes, a simple photo says it all!I’ll be sharing some of my favorite recipes with you, just as you all inspire me every day!Shall we get started?📸 Instagram:@sweetchusy (English)@sweetchusy.es (Spanish)
