Chenna Cheese Patties 🧆🧀

Crispy on the outside, smooth on the inside. These Chenna cheese patties are my new favorite dish. Once the Chenna cheese is made, they take only 10 minutes to assemble, so they are perfect for a quick appetizer or meal. I served them along some marinara sauce but you can try them with whatever sauce you prefer.

Cooking Instructions

Assemble all ingredients.

In a bowl, add all ingredients (except oil) and mix well with your hands. Form cheese into a ball/log.

Form 5-6 patties, about 3 inches in diameter.

Heat up 1/3 to 1/2 cup of ghee or vegetable oil over medium heat until bubbles form when a toothpick is inserted.

Insert patties (do not overcrowd) and shallow fry for 1-2 minutes on each side or until golden brown. Remove and place on a plate lined with paper towels to remove excess oil.

Serve as an appetizer along your favorite sauce or use them as patties for a sandwich. Yum ! 😋

Regular lotus root patties are common, but I started thinking that they would taste good with cheese, so I made these. At first, I grated the lotus root by hand, but that was so much work that I started using a food processor, and they came out so well.When you add them to the frying pan, they may fall apart easily, so be careful.
