Ingredients

20 minutes
4 servings
  • 1 cupBlack eyed beans
  • 2 glassWater for soaking beans or as required
  • 1 cupSpinch cleaned and washed
  • 2 tbsp Chopped coriander leaves
  • 2Green chilli
  • 1 inchpieces Ginger
  • 4 podsGarlic
  • 1onion
  • 1tomato
  • 1/2 tspSalt or to taste
  • 1/4 tspBlack pepper powder
  • 1/4 tspRoasted cumin seeds
  • 1 tb sp lemon juice
  • 1/8 tspasafoetida
  • 2 tbsp Tomato ketchup
  • 1 tspCooking Oil for shallow fry or as required

Steps

20 minutes
  1. 1

    👉Wash and Soak black eyed beans (lobiya) for 4 hours.

    👉Cook in a pressure cooker till two whistles and let pressure release automatically.

    👉Strain the water and transfer it in a mixer. Add spinach, ginger, garlic, green chilli and chopped coriander leaves.

    👉Grind it to a smooth paste.

    👉Chop onion, tomato, green chilli, coriander leaves and mix in black eyed beans paste.

    👉Mix salt, black pepper powder, roasted cumin seeds powder, asafoetida and lemon juice. Mix well.

    👉Like wise make all the chillas.

    👉Serve hot with tomato ketchup.
