Crumple each sheet of phyllo dough by hand and arrange them in a buttered baking dish.

Place all the remaining ingredients in a blender and blend until smooth.

Pour the mixture evenly over the phyllo dough.

Bake in the oven until golden and set.

Once baked, pour the cold syrup over the hot cake (the syrup must be cold).

To make the syrup, combine the sugar and water in a saucepan and bring to a boil. Add the lemon juice and let it boil for 5 minutes, then remove from heat and let it cool completely.
