Toast grapes, chile pikin, garlic, onion (if using), star anise, and allspice in a dry pan over medium heat until slightly charred and fragrant.

Remove star anise and allspice after toasting.

Transfer the remaining toasted ingredients to a blender or food processor.

Blend lightly, keeping the mixture chunky.

Add salt, pepper, and vinegar. Stir to combine.

Pour in olive oil to cover the mixture and mix gently.

Let sit for at least 10 minutes for flavors to blend.
Tips
For best flavor, allow the salsa to sit for a while before serving.
