Heat oil in a pot and sauté onions until translucent.

Add meat and brown on all sides.
Stir in tomatoes, carrots, and spices. Cook 5 mins. - 3
Add water/stock, cover, and simmer for 30 mins until meat is tender.

Tear flatbread into small pieces and soak briefly in the stew.

Serve warm with stew poured over the bread.
Tips
Use slightly stale flatbread for better texture; fresh bread can become mushy.
