In my final week of pregnancy, I suddenly craved shrimp as if it hadn’t been my sworn enemy for the past couple of months. So I made this comforting shrimp pasta in tomato sauce. I skipped the garlic in my own portion because pregnancy made me hate it too, but I’ve included it in the recipe… because let’s be honest, shrimp without garlic just doesn’t make sense. 🍤🍝

240 gSpaghetti
250 gShrimp (peeled and deveined)
2 clovesGarlic (minced)
1 tbspButter
1 tbspOlive oil
1/2 tspWhite pepper
1 tspDried basil
1small Onion
2medium Tomato
1Fresh chili pepper
to taste Salt

Blend onion, tomato, and chili pepper into a smooth sauce

Cook spaghetti in salted water until al dente, then drain

Sauté garlic in butter and olive oil until fragrant. Pour in the blended sauce, simmer for 5 to 10 minutes or until sauce cooks and starts to thicken. Season with salt

Add shrimp to the sauce and cook until shrimp curls and to desired doneness. Season with white pepper and dried basil and stir

Toss in the cooked spaghetti and mix well to coat with sauce
