Momma's Birthday Meatloaf

My mother's birthday just passed, and she requested a meatloaf for her birthday dinner. This sweet, tangy, and mildly spicy meatloaf recipe is great for those in your life who love meatloaf. In honor of the birthday girl, I'm naming this dish Momma's Birthday Meatloaf.

Steps
- 1
Preheat oven to 375°F. Core and dice the green pepper, set aside. Set out the egg and milk to reach room temperature. If frozen, set ground beef in the refrigerator until thawed enough for use. Lightly grease a tin cooking dish.
- 2
In a large mixing bowl, mix the ground beef and Italian breadcrumbs until fully combined.
- 3
Add in the egg and milk, mixing until combined. Add in the A-1 steak sauce and mix until it's completely incorporated.
- 4
Add diced green peppers and mix until well-distributed throughout the meat.
- 5
Add in all seasonings one at a time, stirring between each seasoning.
- 6
Add the entire can of Hunt's Seasoned Tomato Sauce for Meatloaf and mix until fully combined.
- 7
Add the hot sauce (my personal go-to is Frank's Hot Sauce, but use whichever hot sauce you prefer) and mix until just combined.
- 8
Pour meat mixture into a large tin baking dish, mashing down the mixture until evenly distributed.
- 9
Bake uncovered for 25 minutes, preparing the ketchup glaze while the meatloaf cooks.
- 10
For the ketchup glaze, whisk together the ketchup, honey, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, and onion powder. Taste between additions of honey and Worcestershire, adjusting to preferred taste.
- 11
After baking for 25 minutes, remove meatloaf from the oven and apply ketchup glaze. Place the meatloaf back into the oven and bake for han additional 20 minutes or until cooked through.
- 12
Slice and enjoy yogur Momma's Birthday Meatloaf. 🟤
- 13
💡Tip: If the meatloaf browns too much or the ketchup glaze becomes too caramelized, cover meatloaf with foil during the second half of baking.
