Homemade and pure bliss! These are Threaded Aloo Samosas with Switz Dough Threads made for Iftaar this Ramadan 2026. This is one more variation added to the list of Samosas that I have made until now. And this time I made these for all my immediate neighbours as a gesture of good will and best wishes for the festive season.
Flaky and crusty, these are a must have snack on any given day. Serving them with Shaam ki Chai has a charm of it's own. These super crisp Threaded Aloo Samosas are a treat to your tastebuds and a feast to the eyes as well. They look absolutely gorgeous and are equally delightful and delicious. These desirable goodies are easy to make as well.

The best part is that these can be baked too or even made in an Air Fryer. But I chose deep frying this time as I was short of time. The recipe for the filling remains the same and authentic. Switz Dough Threads was of quite a big relief to me this Ramadan and whipping up different goodies was quite easy and effortless. Do give these variety Samosas a try and experience for yourselves the magic of an all new avatar of Aloo Samosas.

Enjoy Cooking with Zeen!

Steps

25-30 minutes
  1. 1

Keep the switz dough threads ready. Spread them in a plate. And also keep ready a slurry of all-purpose flour, red chilli flakes and salt.

  2. 2

For the filling: Heat Oil in a pan. Add asafoetida and the chopped onions. Saute well and add all the other ingredients as mentioned for it. Garnish with freshly sourced and finely coriander leaves. Let it cool down a bit before proceeding with the rest of the process.

  3. 3

Green peas are optional. One can skip it. Make log or elongated shaped aloo samosas. Meanwhile keep oil for frying on a medium high heat.

  4. 4

Dip these elongated shaped aloo samosas in the slurry that we prepared already. Then roll them each in the dough threads. Press nicely and hold until they stick well. Follow the same for all.

Homemaker by choice and a passionate cook by heart. An aspiring cook who actually never knew anything about Cooking until i became a mother myself. With Motherhood came the responsibilities as well and this was the turning point in my life.I started to learn the ABC's of cooking, taking help from my mother and my MIL. And time just flew. I spread my wings higher and higher. With my love for excellence and innovation, i stepped into a world of homecooks with my exposure to Cookpad one fine day on the social media. And there was no looking back since then and i have not only shared recipes here on this wonderful platform but also have made some lovely friends as well. Today iam successful because of my hard work, dedication and loads of good wishes of my family and my kids in particular.
