Ingredients

40 minutes
4 to 5 people
  1. 240 gramsbasmati rice Wash, soak for 10–15 minutes, drain and set aside
  2. Spice powders
  3. 2 tspcoriander powder
  4. 1 tspcumin powder
  5. 1/2 tspturmeric powder
  6. 1/2 tspgaram masala powder
  7. 1/4 tsppepper powder
  8. 1 tspgarlic powder
  9. 1 tspOnion powder
  10. 1 tspSalt
  11. 4 cupsHot water
  12. 1 tsplime juice
  13. 2green chillies finely chopped
  14. 1/4 cupcoriander leaves finely chopped
  15. 1/4 cupFinely chopped mint leaves
  16. 120 gramsgreen peas
  17. 2 tbspclarified butter

Steps

40 minutes
  1. 1

    Heat clarified butter (ghee) in a pan.
    Add the green peas and stir-fry for a minute.

    Add chopped coriander leaves, mint leaves, and green chillies. Stir-fry till fragrant.

    Add all the spice powders and mix well.

    Add the drained basmati rice and gently stir-fry for 1–2 minutes.

    Pour in hot water (about 1/2 inch above the rice level).
    Add salt as required and mix gently.
    Bring to a boil, then lower the flame.

    Add lime juice, cover, and cook till the rice is perfectly done.

    Fluff gently and serve hot.

Hot water (approx. 1/2 inch above rice level)
