Steps
- 1
In a saucepan add milk and sugar. Bring it to a rolling boil on a high heat at first. Then lower down the flame and allow it to simmer for 4-5 minutes.
- 2
Add custard powder to the saucepan mixed in some of the hot milk in order not to form any lumps. Keep stirring it continuously as you add the custard powder. Simmer until it thickens for the next 5-6 minutes. Allow it to cool.
- 3
Beat fresh cream and condensed milk until smooth and luscious. Trim bread slices. Arrange them in a rectangular glass dish. Pour the custard over it. Top it up with the bread slices again and pour the custard as well. Make as many layers as required. And then finally top it up with the fresh cream mix.
- 4
Garnish with slivered almonds, pistachios and some saffron strands. Chill until set for about an hour or two. Slice and serve. Enjoy!
