A rich, spicy, crowd-pleasing dip where lion’s mane mushrooms mimic shredded chicken—perfect for game day or a standout farmers market sample.

Prep the mushrooms
Tear lion’s mane into shaggy chunks (they’ll shrink).
Heat butter in a skillet over medium-high.
Cook mushrooms 8–12 minutes, stirring occasionally, until:
Moisture cooks off
Edges get golden
Lightly shred further with a spatula as they cook - 2
Build the base
Lower heat to medium.
Add cream cheese and stir until melted into mushrooms.
Mix in sour cream and buffalo sauce.
Add garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. - 3
Add cheese
Stir in cheddar and mozzarella.
Mix until smooth and melty. - 4
Bake (recommended)
Transfer to a small baking dish.
Top with extra cheese + blue cheese (if using).
Bake at 375°F for 15–20 minutes until bubbly. - 5
Serve
Garnish with scallions or bacon.
Serve hot with:
Tortilla chips
Celery & carrots
Toasted bread
