A dense, ultra-smooth chocolate cake made with 8 egg yolks for a rich, almost fudge-like texture. Uses a gradual mixing method for a silky batter and even bake. No added water or salt—just pure chocolate flavor.
Steps

Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and line a cake pan.

In a bowl, whisk egg yolks and sugars until smooth and slightly lighter in color.

In a separate bowl, mix together oil, milk, and vanilla extract.

Slowly pour the liquid mixture into the egg yolk mixture, stirring as you go until fully combined.

In another bowl, combine:

In another bowl, combine, flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and baking soda.

Add the dry ingredients into the batter and mix until smooth.

Pour into the prepared pan.

Bake for 55 minutes at 350°F (175°C).

See note 1* Cover your cake with a sheet foil or a sheet pan on top, and bake for a final 15-25 minutes.

Check the center with a toothpick the toothpick should come out clean *if toothpick comes out dirty see note 2* cake should be fully set with a smooth, dense texture.

Once you let the cake cool cut the cake in half horizontally and make sure it’s cool on the inside

Once your cake is fully cooled, take your chocolate buttercream and spread half of it on one of the top of your first layer

Take your second layer and place it on top of your first layer

Take the rest of your chocolate buttercream and spread it evenly across the top of your cake

Take your chocolate bar and put it in a Ziploc bag take a rolling pin and crush up your chocolate bar into pieces where they are about a centimeter wide

Take the chocolate you just crushed up and sprinkle it around the edges of your cake

Your cake is done and ready to serve. Slice and enjoy.

Tips
Note 1 (Optional)
For a flat top, gently press the warm cake with a sheet pan until level. If smaller, use a glass. If it rose too much, press evenly until flat.
Note 2 (Necessary)
If a toothpick comes out with batter, cover and return to the oven. Bake in 5-minute intervals until it comes out clean or with moist crumbs.
