A simple dish which can accompany rice. Also a different way of using drumstick, rather than in the usual sambar.

A simple dish which can accompany rice. Also a different way of using drumstick, rather than in the usual sambar.
Steps

Cut the drumsticks into one-inch pieces. Crush the shallots and red chillies together.

Heat oil in a pan and fry the shallots, red chillies and chopped garlic together till soft. Add turmeric and salt to the mixture.

Add the drumstick into the pan and pour 50-100 ml water into it and close it so that the drumsticks can cook in the steam.

Cook for about 20-25 minutes and remove lid and fry the drumsticks and shallots on high fire so that the shallots turn brown.

Turn off the heat and serve hot
