Kozhukkattai is made by using different methods. This is a plain version with no filling inside. It's very easy to make. It can be a snack or breakfast. It's mostly made in Southern side of India. One thing you've to be careful about is, adding the water to make the dough, so that, the dough is not too loose or not too hard, just soft. You can add more or less grated coconut according to your wish. Pen Friend -

I came up with this recipe for my family with wheat allergies. The dough for the wrappers will be a bit sticky, so be liberal with dusting your workspace. The wrappers tear easily since they're made with rice flour. While wrapping, take care not to stretch the dough. You can also knead the dough in a bread machine. Recipe by Tatatatakachin! cookpad.japan -
Make Mitarashi Dango Dumplings with Mashed Leftover Rice Make Mitarashi Dango Dumplings with Mashed Leftover Rice
I saw a comedian making dango on TV and got some hints from that and made this recipe.I thought that maybe my 2-year-old and 10-month-old year old daughter could help me making this while having fun so I put the rice in a plastic bag. This made it much easier to make the dango than grinding the rice in a mortar. By putting the rice in a plastic bag, I was able to play with my child while making the dango. My daughter helped me a little bit too.Mash the rice until they lose shape. You can also enjoy this dango coated in kinako powder or with azuki bean paste instead of mitarashi sauce. Milk Miso Soup With Rice Flour Dumplings Milk Miso Soup With Rice Flour Dumplings
I wanted to make a simple yet hearty soup with suiton (wheat dumplings) for the cold-weather, using just a few ingredients that the children would love. From Step 7 on, make sure the soup doesn't come to a boil by heating over low.In Step 8, the photo features dropping in the dough with one spoon because I was holding the camera in the other hand, but it's easier to do if you use two spoons. For 4 servings. Recipe by caramel-cookie cookpad.japan -
Macrobiotic Baked Rice Bran & Natto Dumplings Macrobiotic Baked Rice Bran & Natto Dumplings
I was very doubtful when I made these the first time, but I was amazed at how easy they were to eat. I made them as a snack for myself, but my kids and even my husband, who doesn't like rice bran, eats them. The natto and the rice bran cancel out each other's strong odor, and the dumplings are tasty. You can eat these with your hands, but you can bake them in aluminium cups to make them easier to eat. Adjust the amount of curry powder to taste. You can omit the chikuwa and cheese if you like. But I recommend including them the first time you make these. Feel free to vary the ingredients. Shumai Dumplings and Okowa Rice in One Rice Cooker Shumai Dumplings and Okowa Rice in One Rice Cooker
I was thinking that it's a bother to haul out the steamer to steam shumai dumplings, so I thought of cooking in the rice cooker instead. I also thought that sweet rice shumai dumplings can't be the main carbohydrate on their own... so I tried making the rice for the meal with the dumplings, and it succeeded. We use this "two birds with one stone" recipe all the time now.You can use Chinese cabbage, regular cabbage or komatsuna greens, but Chinese cabbage is very watery so you may need to adjust the amount of water added to the cooker. Regular rice may not work, since the lettuce and shumai dumplings will become immersed in water. (I haven't tried it out though.)Try different variations of the rice and shumai dumplings and adjust the amounts of your ingredients to taste. For 2 rice cooker cups' worth of rice and 7 shumai (siumai) dumplings. Recipe by Masapandayan cookpad.japan -
