Soak the basmati rice in water for 30-40 minutes.

Drain the rice and keep aside.

Heat the pan and add ghee.

When it becomes hot, add the cumin seeds and all the whole spices on a medium flame.

Let the cumin seeds get browned and the ghee fragrant from the spices.

Add the soaked rice.

Stir and saute for 1-2 minutes.

Add salt and water.

Cover and cook till the rice is cooked.

Serve it hot. Garnish it with coriander leaves and can be served with curd or any Indian curry.
