Ingredients

  • 2 - 3 cupsSpinach leaves ,
  • 1Onion , medium size roughly chopped
  • 2 tspsButter ,
  • 2 tspsAll purpose flour ,
  • 1 cupMilk ,
  • to tasteBlack pepper ,
  • to tasteSalt ,
  • Water

Steps

20 mins
  1. 1

    Boil the spinach leaves and onion in little water for 3-5 minutes till it is 75% done. Alternatively, you can pressure cook it for one whistle.

  2. 2

    Puree the mixture once cooled.

  3. 3

    Heat butter in a non-stick pan. Add the flour and saute for a minute.

  4. 4

    Add milk and whisk till the mixture thickens.

  5. 5

    Add the puree, black pepper and salt.

  6. 6

    Simmer for 3-4 minutes. 

  7. 7

    Garnish with with sauce/ cream/ cheese. Serve hot.
