Ingredients

  • 3/4 cupurad whole (black lentil)
  • 2 tbspsrajma (kidney beans)
  • to tastesalt
  • 3 tbspsbutter
  • 1 tspcumin seeds
  • 2green chillies chopped
  • 2Bay leaves
  • 1cinnamon stick
  • 1 tablespoononions chopped
  • 1/2 tspginger-garlic paste
  • 1onion Chopped
  • 1 tspfenugreek Dry leaves
  • 1 tspGaram masala
  • 1 tspchilli powder
  • 1/4 tspturmeric powder
  • 1 Cuptomato fresh puree
  • 1/2 cupfresh cream
  • 2 tbspscoriander chopped
  • 1 tbspcream butter or for the garnish

Steps

  1. 1

    Wash and Soak urad and rajma for overnight, boil in pressure cooker, mash both dals, keep aside.

  2. 2

    Heat butter in a pan, add cumin seeds when its start crackling add bay leaf, cinnamon, onion, green chillies and ginger-garlic paste, fry it till brown colour.

  3. 3

    Add turmeric powder, chilli powder, tomato puree, stir and cook till it leaves oil.

  4. 4

    Add dal, cream, salt, garam masala, and fenugreek leaves, stir it., add 1 cup water, mix well, allow it to cook for 10 minutes.

  5. 5

    Serve hot garnished with coriander and butter.
