Chana Dal Khichdi

This is dish that is made without fail on Bhai Dooj. My grandmother carried this tradition from Poonch and Gujranwala. It is my earnest desire to get to visit these places sometime. Bhai dooj is a festival like Rakhi. It is celebrate on the 2nd day from Diwali. The brother visits sister's house and showers her with gifts and blessings.
The sister seats brother in a place that faces east. A wooden plank id places under his feet and some oil dabbed in the oil is places under each foot. She applies kum kum on his forehead and feeds something sweet.
