Yum Yum Sauce Instant Ramen

My mom made this recipe a while ago by simplifying from other complex recipes for a library program teaching teens how to cook upgraded instant ramen recipes. It’s very quick and easy to make, and if you like yum yum sauce, you’re bound to like this too. I’ve noticed theres a big lack of genuinely simple and easy recipes for instant ramen like this one, and since I’ve been using it for so long, I decided I should officially share it.

Steps
- 1
Start cooking your ramen brick in the pot on medium to high heat with enough water to cover the noodles. Throw away the seasoning packet.
- 2
While your ramen cooks, you can go ahead and add your raw egg into the bowl, whisking it well with your fork. Then you can add your garlic, ginger, red pepper flakes, sesame oil, yum yum sauce or kewpie mayo, and soy sauce. Mix well with your fork.
- 3
Order of adding ingredients doesn’t generally matter after the egg; however, if you’re using regular mayo then start with mayo first and add everything in slowly while mixing well. Add the egg last and whisk it in. Otherwise the mayo will separate and that sort of ruins the dish.
- 4
Now that all your ingredients are mixed well, once your ramen is cooked go ahead and add at least 1tbs of the hot water to your bowl, then drain the rest and add your noodles. Mix well.
- 5
For toppings, I recommend chopped green onions (chives) and sliced/chopped up meat. I’ve found that leftover meat goes really well with the bowl, especially if you heat it up in an air fryer.
Tips
If you don’t like the idea of the raw egg, you can cook it separately or skip it entirely. It is safe to eat since the hot water and hot noodles will cook the egg enough for safe consumption. Just add a bit more water to your desired consistency if thats the case!
I attempted to use garlic paste instead of minced garlic and do not recommend unless you prefer that taste.
