Ingredients

  • 1/2 cupsesame seed oil
  • 1 tspMustard seeds
  • 1 tablespoonCumin seeds
  • Pinchasafoetida
  • 1 tablespoonurad whole
  • 1/2 tspturmeric powder
  • 1/2 cupPeanuts
  • 1/4 cupcurry leaves
  • 4Green chilies, chopped
  • 1 inchGinger peeled and chopped
  • 4 Clovesgarlic, crushed (optional)
  • 2 cupsOnion, chopped
  • 1 cupTomato slices
  • 1 cupGreen peas (frozen)
  • 5 cupsSemiya, roasted
  • 1/2 cupGreen bell pepper, diced
  • 1/2 cupRed bell pepper. diced
  • Required Salt
  • 1 tablespoonButter
  • 1/4 cupCoriander leaves with stem, finely chopped
  • 1 cupRoasted cashews
  • Breakfast,Lunch or Dinner

    Prepare a checklist. Collect the necessary materials. Place near the cooking area

    Take peas in a microwave safe bowl and microwave for 5 minutes
    Dry roast cashews in a microwave safe plate, microwave for 2 minutes

    Temper mustard seeds in hot oil in a pan.kadai over medium heat. Let mustard splutter. Then add cumin, urad, turmeric, asafoetida powder, chili, curry leaves; stir and add peanuts. Add ginger, garlic, onion, and bell peppers pieces and saute; After sauteing well (4 minutes), add tomatoes and saute for 4 minutes. Add semiya. Continue cooking over medium high heat for 4-5 minutes. Add 8c of boiling water. Reduce heat, cover and simmer for 10 minutes. Stir in cooked peas, cook covered for 6mins

    Salt to taste. Add butter; stir; Add the chopped coriander leaves Mix together. Turn off the stove. Flavorful, colorful, aromatic, nutritious upma is ready. Transfer to a serving plate or bowl
    Garnish with cashews. Enjoy
