Ingredients

  • 1 bagbulgur, soaked in water (just enough to moisten, do not fully submerge)
  • 2.2 pounds (1 kilogram)ground beef or lamb (use more bulgur than meat)
  • 1 tablespoonmixed spices
  • 1 teaspoonsalt
  • For the filling:
  • Ground beef or lamb
  • Black pepper
  • Salt
  • Pomegranate seeds
  • Small onion
  • Pine nuts

Steps

  1. 1

    Drain the soaked bulgur well.

  2. 2

    Mix the meat, bulgur, and spices, then grind the mixture together using a meat grinder three times.

  3. 3

    Mix again, shape into balls or ovals, chill in the refrigerator for a bit, then fry.

  4. 4

    For the filling: Sauté the onion and ground meat, then add the spices.
