Ingredients

8 servings
  • 2 kgself-raising flour
  • 1/2 cupsugar
  • 250 gblueband
  • 3eggs
  • 1 tbsbaking powder
  • 1/2 litremilk
  • oil for frying

Steps

  1. 1

    In a round bowl place 1.5kg flour add the baking powder cinnamon 1/2of the sugar and mix

  2. 2

    Add the eggs and milk and blueband.start kneading as you add water.

  3. 3

    When the dough is ready place on a flat clean surface and flat using a roller upto 1.5cm

  4. 4

    Use a knife to cut into square shapes as you place the cooking oil in a pan for it to boil.

  5. 5

    Start placing the dough in the pan the mandazi cooks turn so that they can cook on both sides

  6. 6

    Continue until all the mandazis are ready then turn off the heat.
