Ingredients

20 Minutes
  1. 4eggs
  2. 1 cupsugar (about 200 grams)
  3. 1 cupmilk (about 240 ml)
  4. 1 cupsunflower oil (about 240 ml)
  5. 2 cupscoarse semolina (about 340 grams)
  6. 1 cupall-purpose flour (about 120 grams)
  7. 1 packetbaking powder (about 1 tablespoon or 15 grams)
  8. 1 packetvanilla (about 2 teaspoons or 8 grams)
  9. For the syrup
  10. 5 cupswater (about 1.2 liters)
  11. 4 1/2 cupssugar (about 900 grams)
  12. 1little lemon
  13. 1little cinnamon

    Beat the eggs and sugar well in a mixer.

  2. 2

    Add all the liquids—milk and oil—to the mixture and mix well.

  3. 3

    Add the semolina, then the flour, baking powder, and vanilla, and mix until combined.

  4. 4

    Pour the mixture into a 12x16 inch (31x42 cm) baking pan and bake in a preheated oven at 350°F (180°C) until golden brown and cooked through.

  5. 5

    Once baked, remove from the oven and let it cool completely, then cut into pieces.

  6. 6

    Combine all the syrup ingredients in a saucepan and boil for about 10 minutes. Pour the hot syrup directly over the cooled cake in the pan.

  7. 7

    Let the cake absorb the syrup for at least 4-5 hours, then serve, preferably with vanilla ice cream. Good luck!
