  • 75 GramsButter
  • 45 Gramsicing sugar
  • 1egg yolk
  • 140 Gramsall purpose flour
  • 300 GramsDark chocolate
  • 200 Millilitresheavy cream
  • 200 Millilitresmilk full fat
  • 4egg yolks

  1. 1

    Prepare the base of the tart by quickly mixing the butter, icicng sugar, flour and yolk with your hands and form the dough, use a cling film and refrigerate for 4 hours.

    Heat the cream and milk on low heat stirring continuously to make sure nothing burns and then pour it over the chopped chocolate and mix well till its smooth and silky. Add the yolks one by one and mix well.

    If you find any small lumps simply take a bowl of water on which the bowl containing the chocolate filling would fit on and bring the bowl of water to a simmer and place the bowl containing chocolate filling on top and use your spatula to mix well to create a silky smooth filling

  4. 4

    Now roll out the dough quickly and line your tart dish and use a fork to make tiny holes on the base of the tart base after you have lined the tart dish and refrigerate for another 1 hour. Preheat oven to 180 C and bake for 20 minutes to 30 minutes.

    Let the base cool down completely and then pour the chocolate filling in it and refrigerate till set
