Ingredients

  1. fresh hung curd 1/2 small cup (chakka)
  2. sugar 1/2 small cup
  3. 1 tablespoonsugar powdered
  4. sugar powdered 1/2 tablespoon for dusting
  5. saffron strands few

Steps

  1. 1

    Take same quantity(1:1) of sugar and chakka(hung curd) in a heavy bottom pan.

  2. 2

    Cook on low heat.

  3. 3

    Once sugar melts add saffron.

  4. 4

    Keep stirring till all the water evaporate and mixture starts leaving the pan.

  5. 5

    Take the pan off the heat. stir nicely for few more minutes.

  6. 6

    Add powdered sugar. Mix it. Mixture will turn in thick mass.

  7. 7

    Sprinkle little sugar on clean kitchen platform

  8. 8

    Transfor this mass there. roll it with rolling pin.

  9. 9

    Cut into desired shape.

  10. 10

    This barfi lasts long(more than 15 days) without refrigeration.
