Ingredients

  1. 1/2 cuprice
  2. 1/4 cupmoong dal (split green gram)
  3. 2 cupswater
  4. 1 cupbrown sugar or to taste
  5. 1/4 tsp.cardamom powder
  6. 1 tbsp.rose water
  7. 2 cupsmilk
  8. 2 tbsp.ghee
  9. handfulmixed nuts
  10. 1 tbsp.chopped nuts to garnish

Steps

  1. 1

    Dry roast the moong dal till light golden and and keep aside.

    Soak the dal and rice in water for an hour.

    Wash and drain. Add 2 cups fresh water and pressure cook for 8-10 minutes on a low flame after the first whistle.

    Heat ghee in a pan & lightly saute the mixed nuts till light golden. Keep aside.

    Transfer to the pan along with the milk.

    Add sugar to it.

    Simmer on a low flame by mashing them in between. Add the cardamom powder and mix.

    Add the fried nuts also to it and simmer further.

    When done, add the rose water and switch off the flame.

    Garnish with chopped nuts and serve them hot or cold.
