Ingredients

  1. 1 lbground caribou or steak cut in cubes
  2. 1/2 cupchopped onions
  3. 1 smallcan mushrooms, drained
  4. 3 clovegarlic, chopped
  5. 1 largecan of Italian style stewed tomatoes, drained
  6. 1salt & pepper to taste
  7. 215 oz. cans of tomatoe sauce
  8. 1 smallcan tomatoe paste
  9. 1/2 tspground oregano
  10. 3bay leaves
  11. 1 tbspbasil leaves
  12. 122oz bag of elbow macaroni noodles

    brown caribou burger or cubes in a little oil in a skillet

  2. 2

    drain any grease

  3. 3

    add onions, mushrooms, garlic, salt & pepper and cook for 15 to 30 minutes on medium heat until the ingredients are cooked in to the meat.

    in a 2 quart sauce pan, mix stewed tomatoes, tomatoe sauce, tomatoe paste, oregano, bay leaves, and the meat mixture.

  5. 5

    mix thoroughly and simmer for 1 1/2 to 2 hours on low heat.

  6. 6

    boil noodles until done

  7. 7

    rinse cooked noodles thoroughly with hot water.

  8. 8

    mix meat mixture with noodles and stir.

  9. 9

    enjoy your Bou Gou with some good garlic toast!

I grew up in Texas, and had horses, rode in junior rodeos, even won a few. When i moved to Oregon, i was the only one of my friends that could ride and rope... Hence the nickname.
