Ingredients

  • Chili Spice Blend
  • 1 1/2 tspground cinnamon
  • 1 tspchili powder
  • 1/2 tspParprika
  • 1/2 tsppepper
  • 1/2 tspdried oregano
  • 1/2 tspground cumin
  • 1/2 tspground allspice
  • 1/4 tspgrated nutmeg
  • 1/4 tspground cloves
  • Turkey Chili
  • 1 lbground turkey
  • 2/3 cupfinely chopped onions
  • 1/2 cupfinely chopped celery
  • 2 clovegarlic, minced
  • 1bay leaf
  • 8 ozcan chili ready tomatoes
  • 1 canwhite kidney beans.
  • 1 cangreat northern beans
  • 2 mediumpeppers, minced (pablano will have a medium heat, serrano will be much hotter)

Steps

  1. 1

    Caramelize onions and garlic in a large skillet than add to crock pot.

  2. 2

    For 2-3 minutes brown peppers, add half to crock pot set other half aside.

  3. 3

    Add Turkey to skillet and brown. When mostly browned add peppers back to skillet and finish browning. Add to crock pot.

  4. 4

    Add beans, tomatoes, celery and spice blend to crock pot. Stir thoroughly.

  5. 5

    Cook on low for 6-8 hours or high for 3-4, enjoy on it's own or with aged gouda cheese sprinkled on top.
