Steps

Wash the dal and rice soak in water for 1/2 hour then drain water completely. Peel and chop the onion and garlic.

Boil the khicdi in cooker with 3 glass water, After a boil discard the dirt then add salt, red chilli powder, turmeric powder. Lower the flame cover and cook the khichdi for 15 minutes.

Heat the ghee in a pan add cumin seeds let them crackle then add garlic, onion fry until golden add broken whole red chilli and switch off the flame quickly, reserve some tadka for garnish.

Open the lid and pour the tadka on khichdi. Garnish with remaining tadka, onion rings, lemon slice, green chilli, Serve hot with pickle.
