Heat oven to 200C/400F

Place flour, baking powder, salt and butter in a mixing bowl and rub together with your fingers until it resembles sand

Add cheese mix well.

Create a well in flour and add milk,bring the mix together into a dough add more milk if needed.

On a clean work surface dust with flour add dough and roll out to 4cm thick. Using a 5 cm cookie cutter cut out scones until all the dough is used up, place on a baking sheet and glaze with beaten egg.

Bake for 10 minutes on the middle shelf of the oven. Remove and allow to cool slightly then dive in.
