Ingredients

  • 1/2 cupapplesauce
  • 1/2 cupsoftened butter or margarine
  • 1 cupfirmly packed brown sugar
  • 1egg
  • 1 tspvanilla
  • 2 1/2 cupoatmeal
  • 1 cupflour
  • 1 tspbaking soda

Steps

  1. 1

    preheat oven to 350°F

  2. 2

    cream together first 5 ingredients

  3. 3

    to that mixture add the last 3 ingredients and blend well

  4. 4

    at this point you can add optional ingredients such as... 1/2 cup raisins, or 1/2 cup walnuts, or 1/2 cup chocolate chips , etc.

  5. 5

    drop cookies by teaspoonfuls onto an ungreased cookie sheet and bake 10 - 12 minutes

  6. 6

    transfer baked cookies to cooling rack and allow to cool completely

  7. 7

    makes approximately 4 dozen cookies

These turned out horrible. Maybe because the type of flour wasn't specified, not sure but they were very gooey. I couldn't even get them off the cookie sheet.
