Cooking Instructions
- 1
Preheat oven to 400°F.
- 2
Thinly slice the potatoes (the thinner the better) and place in a sealable container or bag. Set aside.
- 3
With a fork or whisk, mix together the oil and your desired spice (I prefer seasoning salt or lemon pepper). Note: If using sweet potatoes, spices are optional.
- 4
Pour over the potatoes, stirring continually to prevent the spices from settling in the oil.
- 5
Seal your container/bag of choice and shake until potatoes are thoroughly coated.
- 6
Dump onto baking sheets. Aim for minimal overlap of chips. 2 large baking sheets needed. (Note: Line the baking sheets with parchment paper to aid in clean-up afterwards.)
- 7
Place as close to the bottom element as possible (lower rack) and back at 400°F for 10-13 minutes.
- 8
Remove and flip then return to the oven for another 10-13 minutes until lightly browned and crispy.
- 9
Alternatively set oven to broil and place as close to the top element as possible (instead of flipping the chips). Monitor closely until lightly browned and crispy (about 5 minutes. Will depend on thickness of potatoes).
- 10
Remove from tray and serve with desired salads and meat. (Great to spruce up a hot dog or hamburger lunch).

Sweet Potato Chips Sweet Potato Chips
I love the salty butter flavor of "Osatsudoki" snacks, and wondered if I could recreate it at home. I gave it a try and my family loved it.☆So I published the recipe. If you slice the sweet potato too thick, it's difficult to quick-fry. Please be sure to adjust the flavor in Step 1. I added salt last, and it was nothing but a lump of salt in the end.I'm scared of flying hot oil, so I combined the oil and the sweet potato together. The oil doesn't have to be pre-warmed for you to be able to quick-fry.
