Tricks to Cooking a Delicious & Tender Steak Tricks to Cooking a Delicious & Tender Steak
My husband asked me to make him a steak for his birthday and I wanted to make something a bit more delicious than usual.Take the meat out of the fridge at least 30 minutes before cooking. After the meat is tender, use your hands to shape the meat back to it's original thickness and season with salt and pepper. The trick is to use a pan heated to the point where smoke comes off the fat and cook the meat on a strong heat until brown. Flip it over and cook for another minute, than back over again and cook for a further minute. Recipe by AyakoOOOOO cookpad.japan -
Chef Cooking Tip #1: White Pepper Chef Cooking Tip #1: White Pepper
Use White Pepper salt mix when cooking in place of using just plain salt. The reason is that white pepper brings the flavor of food from the front of your tongue to the back, giving the food a more full body taste bringing all the Earth tones forward. White Pepper also does not get bitter when cooked like black pepper and blends perfectly into all recipes including white soups and sauces. It is a main staple to any restaurant Chef's spice rack! 3 Tips for Easy Carbonara 3 Tips for Easy Carbonara
I took basic tips from recipes in various sources and compiled them into a simple recipe.Cook the pasta according to the instructions on the package! It won't cook any more after transferring it to the frying pan, so it's important to cook it completely first! The sauce is thickened (emulsified) by the residual heat from the pasta and the added ingredients, but if you find that the sauce isn't thick enough, heat it over low heat for just a bit. Be careful not to cook it too long, or it will become crumbly! Recipe by Kojima ponsuke cookpad.japan -

Tempura for future cooks - beginner friendly~ Tempura for future cooks - beginner friendly~
I love cooking! I'm still learning how to make so many new dishes everyday through my job as an assistant to a cooking teacher. It is so hard but I love it. I am bad at details and things that require precision, but I can see myself get better after every attempt. It took a long way to get here though; I started out being the most impatient person in the world and tried to make everything right the first time. So for you who just began on this journey, don't follow my mistake! You will get better day by day, as long as you learn to correct mistakes while not losing your head. With that being said, here's my tried-and-true tempura recipe. This was one of first dishes I learnt when I started, along with complicated omelets and beautifully shaped vegetables cooked in broth.Welcome to my online kitchen!

QOTW: How do you boil pasta? (And other pasta tips & tricks!) QOTW: How do you boil pasta? (And other pasta tips & tricks!)
Happy Wednesday, all! It's time for our QOTW (Question of the Week) where we'll be talking about ingredients, methods, and sometimes just plain fun food stuff.I've been eating a lot of pasta lately, which made me wonder about our different methods of cooking pasta. I used to do the traditional full stock pot of water and a big punch of salt brought to a boil first until I learned about starting your pasta in cold, shallow water (about 2" above the pasta line).Since then, I've never looked back. It takes less time, less water, and less salt, and you still get a great al dente result if you pull the pasta on time. I know it's heresy to lots of people, but I swear it works! :D*Note: A comment below reminds me this applies to dry and not fresh pasta. So this week's question: HOW DO YOU BOIL PASTA? (And any other pasta cooking tricks you'd like to share.)Looking forward to your answers!~ YFNCM :) x
