blanch the beans and brown the beef in a large pot

meanwhile dice onions

drain the beef and beans, then add onions

simmer on medium heat, covered for 15 minutes

add crushed tomatoes, beer, and salsa

simmer on low heat for 15 minutes

add remaining ingredients. do not follow the instruction on the chili kit. add spice to your taste. it should be thick enough to forgo the flour, saving some calories

simmer for another 15 minutes, then serve hot
