Delicious Bread Rolls with Kasseri Cheese & Wiener Sausages

These savoury bread rolls are an excellent choice when you want something to curb your hunger in the middle of the day. They give you all the energy you need until you return home and have a proper meal. This recipe produces twenty fluffy bread rolls. To keep them fresh and soft, wrap them with food membrane and leave them in room temperature for 24 hours. You can also put them in freezer bags and keep them in the freezer up to one month. Defrost them in room temperature – it takes about 2 to 3 hours- or in the refrigerator overnight. This way, you can enjoy a freshly baked bread roll every day!

Mix yeast with sugar and about ⅓ of the milk. Set aside for a few minutes

In the bowl of your mixer put flour and salt. Blend for a few seconds.

Add the yeast mixture and half of the remaining milk. Start mixing on low speed. Add the rest of the milk and mix for 2min.

Continue with the olive oil and knead for 2min. Add the sesame seeds and keep kneading on medium speed for 4min.

Add the cheese & the sausages. Knead on low speed until they’ re evenly distributed.

Shape the dough into a ball and put it in a lightly oiled bowl. Cover with plastic wrap and place it in a warm spot. Allow it to rise for 1hr.

Oil your hands and your bench and take the dough out. Press gently to deflate it. Weigh the dough and cut it into 20 equal pieces.

Shape the first 10 bread rolls. Arrange them on a baking tray covered with parchment paper. Cover with plastic and set aside. Preheat your oven at 180ºC / 350⁰F.

Shape the rest of the bread rolls. Cover with plastic and set aside

Brush the first bread rolls with milk and bake for 25min. Repeat the process for the second baking tray. Enjoy!
