World's Best Cup of Coffee

Steve Cultrera

I've tried all kinds of coffee making techniques, including expensive machines (don't last), French press (gritty and hard to clean-up), and Starbucks (expensive habit and big corporation). This is the best! Coffee comes out rich and complex. You'll try this method on a coffee you've been drinking for years, and it will blow you away.

Steps

  1. 1

Grind coffee either right before, or the night before, with a burr grinder. The burr grinder makes a difference. I use a cheap, manual grinder. It works great and is much quieter than an expensive electric burr grinder.

  2. 2

Heat water to steaming in a sauce pan. Do not boil! Add coffee to the water, and turn down heat so water stays steamy for 5-10 minutes. Again, don't boil. It makes the coffee come out bitter.

  3. 3

Pour everything through a cone filter sitting on top of a carafe, or large measuring cup.

  4. 4

To clean up, throw away filter/grounds and rinse everything.

You can utilise those steeped grounds again in an ice cream or even chili. Try it out and let me know how it turned out!
